Delta Air Lines Baggage Allowance and Fees
Are you planning to fly with Delta Air Lines? Discover everything you need to know about Delta Air Lines baggage allowance, restrictions, fees and charges.
Delta Air Lines Carry-On Baggage
Delta Air Lines passengers are permitted to bring onboard the aircraft one piece of cabin baggage, plus one personal item, such as a briefcase, camera bag or small backpack. Your carry-on baggage should fit into the overhead bins or under the seat in front of you.
Carry-on baggage may not exceed 114cm in combined length, width and height; this includes any handles and wheels – with the exception of small musical instruments that fit in the overhead compartment space or under-seat space available at the time of boarding.
Baggage must meet carry on size limits (approximately 56 x 35 x 23 cm).
Due to limited overhead space, Delta Air Lines passengers travelling on flights with 50 seats or less are only permitted to carry one personal item on board the aircraft.
Limits apply on certain routes. Visit the Delta Air Lines website for more information.
CARRY-ON WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS:
No maximum weight applies to carry-on baggage.
However, this varies across airports. Visit the Delta Air Lines website for more information.
Need to purchase a suitable hand luggage case for your upcoming flight? We recommend this, available on Amazon, as they are approved by most airlines.
Delta Air Lines Checked Baggage
When travelling with Delta Air Lines, the most common fees for passengers travelling in a domestic, Main Cabin seat is $25 each way for your first bag under 23kg, and $35 each way for your first bag under 23kg. Baggage must not exceed 157cm in total dimensions.
This may wary between routes. Visit the Delta Air Lines website for more information.

Delta Air Lines Special Items
Delta Air Lines permit a wide range of sporting equipment and special baggage on flights. Due to their size, some of these items may be counted as a standard checked bag.
