Flybe 2019 Baggage Allowance
If you’re travelling with Flybe on an upcoming flight, here’s everything you need to know about your Flybe baggage allowance, restrictions, fees and charges.
Flybe Ticket Types
Flybe offers three different types of tickets. The prices of these tickets will vary depending on your route;
Flybe Hand Baggage
Flybe passengers can carry one standard cabin bag measuring no more than 55 x 35 x 20cm including wheels and handles. You can also take a smaller under seat item such as a laptop or a handbag. Both items must weigh no more than 10kg combined.
If your cabin bag exceeds the dimensions and weight limits it will be checked into the aircraft hold and fee applied. A charge of £50 per item is applicable for oversized bags presented at the departure gate.
If you have a ‘Get More’ or ‘All In’ ticket, without a hold bag already checked in, you may check in an oversized or overweight carry-on bag free of charge (as long as it doesn’t exceed 23kg for ‘Get More’ or 23kg x 2 for ‘All In’).
By choosing Get More you opt for peace of mind, with a standard 23kg hold luggage item included in your ticket. Should you wish to carry a bit more you still have the option to increase your hold luggage allowance online by purchasing an additional 23kg hold bag. One of the many benefits of travelling in All In is the ability to carry two items of hold luggage weighing up to 23kg each, free of charge. Note: Excess luggage charges apply to all hold bags which exceed the 23kg pre-booked allowance. Hold bags may only be purchased for the whole journey. No single item of hold luggage may weigh more than 32kg.
Need to purchase a suitable hand luggage case for your upcoming flight? We recommend this, available on Amazon, as they are approved by most airlines.

Flybe Checked Baggage
Hold luggage fees and allowances will depend on your ticket type. ‘Get More’ passengers receive 23kg checked baggage free of charge, and ‘All In’ customers will receive 2 items of hold luggage at 23kg checked baggage free of charge. ‘Just Fly’ customers must purchase any hold luggage.
Flybe offers two hold luggage options available for purchase online; For those occasions when you wish to carry the essentials, our standard hold luggage option allows you to carry one item of hold luggage weighing up to 23kg. Perfect when visiting friends and family, a longer holiday, enjoying your second home, cruise travellers or just because choosing only a couple of outfits just won’t do! Our largest hold luggage allowance enables you to carry 2 items of hold luggage, each weighing up to 23kg. Excess luggage charges apply to all hold bags which exceed the 23kg pre-booked allowance. Hold bags may only be purchased for the whole journey. No single item of hold luggage may weigh more than 32kg.
Prices are per person, per one way flight. Passengers are advised to book baggage online, rather than at the airport as it is much cheaper.
Flybe Excess Baggage
Flybe offers the opportunity to pre-book and increase your hold luggage allowance (no single item can be more than 32kg, however you can book multiple items), however should you wish to carry hold luggage in excess of this permitted pre-bookable allowance, excess baggage charges will apply. If your hold baggage exceeds your pre-booked weight allowance, you will be charged a fee of £15 per extra kilogram.
Flybe Special Items
When travelling on a Flybe flight, there are certain ‘exceptional items’ which may be carried free of charge. These include: pushchairs, prams, travel cots, car seats, wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, suit, wedding cake, mobility equipment.
There are also certain exceptional items which can be carried for an additional fee. Items such as sporting equipment and musical instruments will be charged at £30 per item, each way. Each exceptional item placed in the hold has a weight allowance of up to 23kg (subject to space available in the aircraft hold).. Should items exceed this allowance, standard excess baggage fees apply. If you intend to travel with an exceptional item, it is advised to contact Flybe prior to booking in case there are specific instructions relating to your item.
